I am very pleased to announce a new webinar series to support the Geriatric Scholars Program Toolkits. The series launches on August 2nd with a presentation by James Powers, MD on Functional Assessment. The program is available at no charge. We hope that you will share the announcement with GWEP and other programs that focus on improving care for older Americans.

Program Description: This 8 part web-based program will provide training on a variety of topics geared to assist the clinicians and teams caring for older Veterans to manage and properly use the "Geriatric Scholars Program Toolkits". Demonstrating functional assessment in motion is a powerful indicator of severity of disease and a driver for support services for elderly patients. The Geriatric Scholars Program Functional Assessment Toolkit has already been provided to the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOCS) and this is a training needed to use the contents correctly.
