Objectives
At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  1.  Identify the most common and highest risk behavioral health presenting problems among older adults.
  2.  List important adaptations associated with age and culture to meet the needs of older adults.
  3.  Apply strategies to assist older adult patients with a plan for self-care or further treatment.
Target Audience
Educators, Health & Educational Administrators, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Counselors, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Psychologists, Dentists, Physicians, Physicians Assistants, Social Workers, Allied Health Professionals, Psychiatrists.
Registration
This presentation is open to everyone and no registration is required. Simply follow the instructions under “Connection Information” on the day of the presentation to be connected. There is no cost or travel required and 1 CE, 1 NBCC hours or 1.0 contact hours will be provided for attending this webinar. Details on how to claim the credit will be provided during the presentation.
NOTE: Per APA guidelines partial credit will not be given, you must attend the entire one hour in order to receive credits.
About the Presenter
[hristopher Morris, Ph.D]Christopher Morris, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist providing integrated behavioral health in the Family and Community Medicine Clinic at UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He is on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of New Mexico.  Dr. Morris spent many years with the Navajo Nation working in tribal behavioral health and substance abuse programs, and has also worked at a 638 tribal health clinic, the Indian Health Service, Head Start and early intervention agencies, a behavioral health managed care organization, and directed a community mental health center serving four New Mexico counties. He is a certified Mental Health First Aid trainer, and his areas of interest include behavioral health finance and service delivery; behavioral health and primary care integration; and community behavioral health literacy.
